Integrated biological control
For some years now we have been working hard to develop and implement Integrated Pest Management into our production activity: the use of natural predators of the pests that can attack a harvest without having to resort to authorised artificial phytosanitary measures. Almería and its industry are leading this revolution which is gradually reaching the consumer market.
The Junta de Andalucía, among other organisms that promote technological innovation, requested Grupo Femago to provide the required advice and to play an intermediary role that would allow the Farmer to have all of the information necessary to face the challenges posed by market changes.
Thanks to our efforts (and, of course, those of others involved) the surface area of fruit and vegetables being cultivated with fully operational Biological Control systems has doubled in just one year.
The third area that Femago works on is Sales, from the point of setting a value to the products, to the point at which they reach the final consumer.
